Hidden Spots on Campus to Study and Relax

Our campus, tucked away in the forest and overlooking the Black Sea, is a peaceful retreat from city chaos. This serene environment helps me concentrate on my studies without distractions. While the library is the go-to place for studying, it can get crowded, especially during exam season. Luckily, our campus has many other fantastic spots to hit the books. Here are some cozy and quiet places to check out.

Glasshouse is a great study area with comfy couches and tables located in the SNA courtyard. It’s very quiet, and the glass walls let in plenty of natural light, which can really boost your mood and productivity. Plus, there are a couple of coffee shops right next to it, which is super convenient.

For those who love a good view, my top pick is Teras. It’s located just above the Glasshouse and next to the football field. Here, you can enjoy views of the forest, sea, and bridge all at once! I love sitting on the benches outside and listening to the birds singing. Teras has huge couches that are perfect for lounging and a table in the center for studying.

In the SOS building, just below the Sevgi Gönül Cultural Center (SGKM), there are round couches with soft lighting that create a cozy, focused vibe. There aren’t many distractions, making it perfect for serious studying. There are also coffee shops and vending machines nearby. This spot is popular, so it’s best to go early to snag a seat.
I recently discovered the Bookstore in the student center, and it’s an awesome study spot. It has a large table with everything you need, individual tables, and a coffee shop inside. It also offers a great view of Henry Ford Field and is close to everything, unlike SNA. P.S. Their playlist is fantastic!

You can also use empty classrooms after classes or on weekends. During exam season, they can get busy, but usually, it’s just a few people in a big room, so don’t hesitate to ask if you can join them. Classrooms are great for studying because they have projectors, making them perfect for group study sessions.

Lastly, the Winter Garden is a great place to socialize but not the best studying. It’s always crowded and loud, but if you’re disciplined, you might make it work!

These hidden gems on our campus offer unique, peaceful environments for studying and relaxing, helping you find the perfect spot away from the usual hustle and bustle.
