The Al Ghurair STEM Scholars Program at Koç University was launched in 2017 and provides educational opportunities for a total of 30 high-achieving underserved Arab youth from across the region every year.

In Fall 2017 Koç University welcomed the first cohort of 14 students from Syria, Egypt, Algeria, Palestine and Jordan, who started their undergraduate and graduate courses in different fields of sciences and engineering.

The Al Ghurair STEM Scholarship Program at Koç University offers

  • 100% tuition scholarships in all of Koç University College of Engineering and College of Sciences Undergraduate programs and all Graduate School of Sciences and Engineering’s Master without Thesis programs

It aims to ensure that all its scholars receive high quality academic advising and career counselling, as well as opportunities to access community service and internships in their career fields.

How to apply?

To apply students need to:

  • apply to Koç University for admission to their program of interest using Koç University’s undergraduate or graduate online application with all required documents (test scores, grades, etc) before the relevant university deadline AND
  • apply to the Al Ghurair Foundation through their online application by their deadline

Other Requirements

Be an Arab citizen and not holding any other citizenship.
Be between 17 and 30 years old.
Be proficient in English.

Need financial assistance and willing to provide proof of financial need.
Have achieved no less than an 85% (or 3.0) Grade Point Average (GPA) in your latest complete academic year, whether in high school or university.
Have begun an application to Koç University or already secured admission at Koç University for an undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM-related program.
